I am ​primarily a self taught artist, painting specifically in acrylic. Painting for me has gone from a mere pastime to a passion. I began pursuing painting seriously 8 years ago. It is my form of meditation, a process in which I can totally emerse my self. I paint because it is my way of expressing thoughts, feelings, and emotions without judgement.There is a quote by Camus that sums up my feelings about painting as a creative medium:

 

"It is not your paintings that I like. It is your painting." 

 

My interpretation of this quote is the idea that the paintings come THROUGH me rather than from me. Sometimes I am as surprised at the end result as anyone.

 

Most recently, I have been drawn to what I call spiritually iconic images that suggest or represent some higher power manifested through the physical realm. These images reinforce the connection I have to the world around me and also to that which I do not see.

 

The one other thing that brings me a sense of joy comparable to creating these paintings is sharing them with others. If the viewer gets even half as much pleasure in experiencing or owning my work as I get in creating them, I have spent my time well.
